What We Do
Ateker Pastoralists Peace Initiative (APPI) is a passionate, community-based non-governmental organization (NGO) rooted in the heart of Turkana County. Since our founding, we’ve been dedicated to supporting marginalized pastoralists populations through innovative, inclusive, and sustainable approaches. Headquartered in Kakuma, we serve as a vital link between local communities, governments, development agencies, and the broader global community—amplifying the voices of those often unheard. We work at the intersection of peace, climate resilience, and economic empowerment, addressing the root causes of conflict, poverty, and vulnerability in pastoralists regions.
